Lulu Mall is organising a reader’s festival, celebrating books from April 5th to 9th. Aimed at re-familiarizing people, especially the younger generation with the art of reading, visitors will get to experience a unique reading experience at the mall. Along with an extensive display and sale of over 3000 books of different genres, visitors can also pick up books for hours of relaxed reading at the carefully designed facility in the atrium of the mall. Acting as a makeshift free library, the facility can be accessed by any visitor of the mall from 10 AM to 10 PM. Through the Lulu Reader’s Fest the mall is trying to get children to experience of wonder and joy of being surrounded by books. The lack of reading spaces for children in the city is one reason why this event is being held by the mall. The event will not just be focussed on reading, but will also be an interactive space where authors, illustrators, story-tellers and artists from all over India will come together to create fun workshops for kids every day. Seven workshops will be held daily from 11 AM to 7 PM for children in the age group of 5-12 years. Each workshop can accommodate 30 children who will be encouraged to explore their creativity through books with diverse activities ranging from Haiku and poetry, children’s theatre, story drama, calligraphy, musical storytelling, comic art, clowning, balloon art, folklore and much more. Some of the performers include theatre practitioner & performance story teller Vikram Sridhar of Around the Story Tree; writer, curator & publisher Aparna Raman of Timbuktoo; performer, trainer & storyteller Sangeeta Goel of Storywalahs; theatre personality Prashant Nori of Dramebaaz; storyteller, writer and educationalist Deepa Kiran of Story Arts India; trainer & facilitator Harish Bhuvan of Faith Foundation who clowns with a compassion; Calligraphy artist Shreyas Panduranga and comic artist Sreejita Biswas of StripTease the Mag. LuLu Summer Camp was aimed at creating an enjoyable experience for children as they explore individual creativity, build self-esteem, make friends and learn new skills. Daily activities included arts and crafts, indoor games, music, imaginative plays and special events.
Customers experienced the authentic taste of Kerala snacks like Bonda, Vada, Pazham Pori, Kozhkatta, Pappadavada, Parippuvada, Sukhiyan, Steamed Bananas, Sarbath, Puttu, Kappa, Meen Curry, Unakka Erachi Ularthiyath, Meen Thala Curry and Goli Soda for ten days. LuLu Mall celebrated its 2nd Anniversary. The festivities began by cake cutting by cine artists Dulquer Salmaan, Nithya Menon, Dileep, and film director Kamal, on March 10 at the Main Atrium. After the inaugural ceremony, 'LuLu Retail Awards 2014-15' awards ceremony was held at the Main Atrium. The festivities concluded on April 30, 2015.
Children met Santa Claus everyday from December 15 to 26. There was an entertaining Christmas Theme Dance performance on December 18. Club FM conducted the Christmas Carol Contest on December 19 where contestants had a blast with the good old carols to win exciting prizes. Customers were entertained with the clap worthy antics of Charlie Chaplin from 20 to 31 December. The Christmas Tree Decor Competition was conducted on December 22 and winners won exciting prizes. Customers posed for photographs with the chirpy and lovable Snow Man. Customers were showed the easiest and delicious ways to bake cakes in the Marriott Cake Making Workshop held on December 23. Astonishing artistic brilliance of the Plate Spinning performance, the acrobatic finesse of the Contortion Performance and breathtaking Diabolo performance was organised. On New Year Eve, the countdown for a brand new year was held and customers enjoyed the New Year frenzy with some spectacular fireworks display.
Crossword conducted the 'Winners Factory' Malayalam Version book launch on November 15 in their store. Chief Guest Shri. Hibi Eden MLA released the book. The author, Mr. Damien Antony, signed the copies of the English and Malayalam versions of the book.
On 14, 15 & 16 November, as part of World Diabetes Day, medical camps of various hospitals were conducted on the 2nd floor of the mall, near Canon store. KIMS Hospital conducted a Diabetics medical camp on Friday 14 November. There was free Random Blood Sugar & BP check-up and consultation for high diabetics cases. RAJAGIRI Hospital conducted a Diabetics medical camp on Saturday 15 November. There was BMI check-up, Blood Sugar & BP check-up and diet consultation. Amrutha Hospital conducted a Diabetics medical camp on Sunday 16 November.
The samples were collected painlessly using a cotton swab from inside the donor's cheek and were sent to USA for testing and classification. Patients in need can access this database for a match and contact the donor directly. This measure would bring relief to many, by sparing them the effort needed to conduct country wide stem cell compatibility test when the need arises. This camp also intended to spread awareness about stem cell donation, which can be separated from the donor's blood, collected through a simple blood donation process.

Anyone can be a superhero by donating blood and saving lives. Blood Donation Camp was held on August 15, 16 and 17, at the 2nd floor of the mall. Kerala's most popular band 'Thykoodam Bridge' and singer Biju Narayanan inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp. Free goodies such as branded T-shirts, wrist bands and caps were given to all blood donors who participated in the camp.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Mehndi designing contest was conducted in which the participants could unleash their creativity and win fabulous prizes - Sterling Silverware gifts from Shaze worth Rs. 10000 - 1st prize, Rs. 7000 - 2nd prize, Rs. 5000 - 3rd prize. All the participants received exciting gift vouchers and free movie tickets.

LuLu Mall was converted to an opulent Arabian dream with Ramadan themed décor. The Ramadan décor was complimented by festivities and live international and traditional performances like Haridi, Tanoura and Kolkali. A Turkish coffee man was present to entertain and engage the customers all the way. The Ramadan special offers made the holy month special for our customers.
As part of the grand celebrations in connection with ‘Football Fever @ LuLu’, 30 Harley Davidson bikes with their riders wearing jerseys of the participating countries in the FIFA World Cup rode into LuLu Mall and electrified and exhilarated the scene. The audience definitely had their time of their lives by watching and clicking photos with some of the rarest and finest Harleys.
Celebrate this World Cup season with LuLu Mall. The 'Football Fever @ LuLu' event was officially inaugurated by Olympian Chandrasekharan on 11 June. A giant size replica of the official match ball of the 2014 FIFA World Cup - Adidas Brazuca is at LuLu Mall. This massive football has travelled across major cities in India and has arrived at Kochi as part of LuLu Mall’s 'Football Fever @ LuLu' event. LuLu Mall brings Urban Street Team - an international freestyle football team recognised as the premium football entertainment group in Asia, to Kochi. Catch their spectacular and stunning freestyle football skills from June 12 - 16. Score penalty goals at the indoor football field on the 2nd floor and you could win prizes including World Cup official merchandise, shopping vouchers and much more. On the occasion of 'World No Tobacco Day', LuLu Mall and KIMS joined hands to spread awareness about the ills of smoking and the right treatment options for patients suffering from lung diseases. KIMS health booth, an initial Breathometer screening, PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and a free consultation card for a pulmonologist at KIMS Hospital were provided at the 2nd floor of LuLu Mall.
This year, Central Atrium was the avenue for the Easter celebrations at LuLu Mall. Visitors dropped their wishes and messages at our Easter tree and painted Easter eggs. The whole crowd had a wonderful time with our Easter Bunny and other amazing Easter games like The Egg and Spoon Race, The Easter Egg Hunt, The Feed the Bunny Game, The Easter Buzzer Quiz, and various 'Minute to Win It' games. The event was conducted on April 19 and 20, 2014.

Our 1st anniversary celebrations began with the 1st birthday cake cutting ceremony by Mr. Yusuff Ali M.A. along with team LuLu at the main atrium at 11.30 am. The LuLu Retail Awards 2013 awards ceremony were held at the main atrium at 3 pm. SHOP & W1N Shopping Bonanza was also launched as part of our anniversary.
From 22nd December 2013 to 5th January 2014, LuLu Mall hosted a variety of entertainment programmes. A carol group sang soulful Christmas songs as Santa’s elves greeted the customers. The spectacular Lion Dance performed by skilled artistes and a talented juggler who astounded the crowd with his unbelievable skills – there were many things which made the crowd a happy one.
Christmas Shopping Extravaganza was held from 12 December 2013 to 5 January 2014. There was a 25-day 'Shop, Win & Shine' offer at LuLu Mall were customers could purchase for Rs.5000 a day and enter the lucky draw to win exciting prizes. One gold coin was won daily and two lucky winners were chosen every Saturday and Sunday. The bumper prize was a Toyota Etios car and a package tour to Singapore. Also, 150 little girls won free passes to the Disney Princess Academy held at LuLu Mall on 19th January 2014.
An exciting inaugural ceremony of LuLu Mall’s Christmas celebrations were held. There were one hundred Santas in the central atrium for the cake cutting ceremony. At the Santa House customers were able to get instant photographs with Santa Claus. Our Santas also distributed sweets and goodies to children.
LuLu Mall in association with Club FM conducted an activity - 'Thank you Sachin' to honor Sachin Tendulkar. On a huge image of Sachin, customers placed coins to make a 'coin picture' of Sachin Tendulkar. The money received through this activity was handed over to Cochin Cancer Society. The activity was inaugurated by cine actor/CCL cricketer Mr. Rajeev Pillai.

Free eye screening camp was conducted in association with Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly, in the 2nd floor of the mall. The inauguration of the programme was done by cine actor Baburaj at the atrium. The camp was held from 10 am to 8 pm. The activities included detailed vision and refraction checking, intra ocular pressure checking, fundus evaluation, etc.. There was screening for refractive errors, glaucoma, squint, corneal problems, retinal problems, cataract, computer vision syndrome and other ocular anomalies.
On World Heart Day 2013, we conducted a Moovathon in association with KIMS Hospital. Cycling started from KIMS Wellness Center, Padamugal, and passed through Palarivattom, where they were joined by runners and skaters and reached LuLu Mall. A small health talk was given by a cardiologist. The Moovathon reached LuLu Mall at 7:15 AM. Further to this, a free ECG and RBS (Random Blood Sugar) screening camp for public was held at the 2nd floor of LuLu Mall. This was a full day activity. We were able to reach out to more than 345 customers through the camp.
'9 to 9 Bonanza' was held on 12th September 2013. On that day, a lucky winner was selected every hour from 9 AM to 9 PM. Customers can shop for Rs. 5000 on that day and register at the counters provided. The prizes were fabulous unconditional gift vouchers from the stores in LuLu Mall. The winners were announced at the central atrium.
